Position: Bicycle Mechanic

There are hundreds of kilometers of mountain bike trails from quick after work rips to all-day mission. Not to mention, endless backcountry to explore literally at your doorstep, in a small town with big city services. Summers under the midnight sun and winters of world-class cross-country and back country skiing; wait…extensive networks of groomed single-track fat bike riding too.

The details: Icycle is looking for full-time bicycle mechanics with at least 2 years previous experience at a specialty bicycle shop. Potential candidates must be familiar and practiced with all aspects of common hydraulic brake systems, suspension forks and shocks, full-suspension pivot services as well as all types of bicycle drivetrains – even the old stuff. Candidates should also have experience with road, gravel, and e-bicycles. An interest and/or previous experience with ski tuning both XC and Alpine will is an asset as we are looking for year-round mechanics. Our year-round permanent staff benefit from a stable, higher than most, salary with 2 weeks paid vacation and paid sick time; as well as a healthcare benefit program. Icycle also has a furnished apartment attached to the shop to help with the housing situation for new to Whitehorse staff and we also have many local contacts with housing opportunities that never make it to public advertising due to the shortages.

Starting wage for full-time bike mechanics is $50k or $24.50/hr. Employees who become full-time permanent staff are paid on salary with 2 weeks paid vacation and health benefits.
