Professional Bicycle Mechanics: MECH1230

The bicycle industry is booming and there is a shortage of well-trained, experienced staff with a solid foundation in bicycle mechanics. In this intensive eleven-day, hands-on course, you will gain practical knowledge and experience with all major bicycle components, including frames, bearings, drive trains, and shifting and braking systems, on a variety of bicycle styles and vintages.  Three days are devoted to the skilled craft of building bicycle wheels, including designing and selecting components for specific uses. Other topics covered include the selection and appropriate usage of task-specific tools, organizing and running the service shop, and bicycle sizing and fitting. You will return to your shop ready to confidently troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and fit bicycles. The home mechanic will become a pro, and the bike shop pro will take their skills to a new level. Use of all shop supplies is included in the course fee.  The class location is Winterborne Bicycles at 59 Kirby Ave Unit 11b, Dundas ON.
