Position: Bicycle Mechanic
Job Description: BICYCLE WORKSHOP LEAD TECHNICIAN - Full Time
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate for this position is a Bicycle Wizard, highly skilled on working on all kinds of bicycles - from kids to electric, to the highest end electronic road and complex custom mountain bikes. You must be proficient at bleeding brakes, suspension service and tuning, dropper post adjustments and installs, general drivetrain tuning and changing flats in a flash. In this position you will write, sell and perform bicycle service. This is a customer facing job, one with extensive customer interaction, including working on the sales floor during busy periods. You will be expected to juggle emergency on-the-spot repairs along with completing signed-in service jobs in a timely fashion. You will ensure all our customers are treated respectfully, politely and depart our shop feeling that they have received nothing but the very best quality service. You will maintain a clean, organized and stocked service department.
Requirements:
- Barnett’s, UBI or Winterbourne certified or 5 years experience as a bicycle mechanic
- Up to date with the latest cycling technologies and products
- Ability to write, sell and perform all levels of bicycle service and bicycle assembly
- Solid Numeracy skills, able to quickly estimate service job totals and completion times
- Comfortable working with computers and mobile devices
- Able to use supplier B2B systems to process, record and track warranty claims
- Approachable, Welcoming, Friendly, Professional and Confident at all times
- Capable of lifting and carrying 50lbs on a regular and repeated basis
- Perform test rides on every build and repair for quality assurance
- Working knowledge of SmartVendor POS an asset
- A passion and joy of cycling you are willing to share with all types of riders
- Team Oriented and able to communicate well with co-workers (verbal and written)
