Position: Community Bike Shop Manager - Until Filled
Job Description: The Windsor Bike Kitchen is a non-profit community social enterprise. We are looking for a Shop Manager to help us deliver on our vision of more people cycling for everyday transportation in Windsor-Essex. The successful candidate will have a passion for cycling, possess solid wrenching skills, and have a desire to connect community through outreach and the delivery of our bicycle maintenance programs.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Create a welcoming and inclusive space for our diverse customers, staff, students and volunteers.
* Coach employees, students and customers to improve their skills and knowledge; teach skills classes and promote D.I.Y.
* Manage inventory, develop effective workflow and organization of new and donated bikes, tools and parts.
* Assess, refurbish, repair donated bikes, customer bikes, bike parts and components on a wide variety of bicycles.
* Assist in marketing/promoting bike sales, events and Bike Kitchen programs.
* Support our off-site Children’s Bike Safety Rodeos and Camps and other community events to promote safe cycling.
* Support community slow bicycle rides and cycling events.

* experienced in bike repair;
* a commuter cyclist, familiar with the Rules of the Road and is excited to become Can-Bike certified;
* experienced working with youth and volunteers;
* available weekends, some evenings and some holidays;
* empathetic, outgoing and adept at engaging with many different types of personalities in an inclusive environment.
SALARY AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The position is for approx 30-40 hours per week depending upon the applicant's preference and our seasonal needs, and we're highly flexible. Our space and our people are warm and friendly and the work environment is fun and highly collegial.
