Position: Mechanical Director
Job Description: The Mechanical Director of Cycling Into The Future (CITF) is responsible for overseeing and leading the mechanical aspects of the organisation and programs, as well as the office and workshop space at 200 Webster, Kitchener.
Key duties include the management of the workshop and office, managing equipment, bike-refurbishing program, managing mechanics who work for CITF, inventory monitoring, purchasing parts and tools, and program support developing strategy and logistics.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Significant experience repairing all types of bikes and training people to repair bikes.
Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
Ability to teach the process of basic bike repair and maintenance to teenagers and adults who bring varying levels of experience and skill to the task
Ability to convey, in an inspiring way, strategic vision to staff, board, volunteers and donors
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Managing Equipment: Manages equipment for the CITF program
Responsible for ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are ready for tuning up and refurbishing bikes
Responsible for budgeting for, and procuring, all equipment and supplies needed for tuning up and refurbishing bikes
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, keeping inventory and managing the storage of supplies and equipment
Responsible for organising the transportation of equipment
2) Managing Bike Refurbishing Program:
Responsible for managing the donation and pick-up of bikes
Responsible for training and communicating with volunteer home-mechanics
Responsible for organising bike refurbishing sessions and training volunteers in the repair and maintenance of bikes
Responsible for safety checking all bikes before they are given out.
3) Managing Mechanics: Recruiting, training, scheduling and supervising mechanics and technicians
Responsible for recruiting new mechanics and technicians to work with CITF
Responsible for developing and delivering training to prepare mechanics and technicians to work in schools
Responsible for scheduling mechanics and technicians to work in schools.
Responsible for supervising and supporting mechanics and technicians during work at schools
