Position: Head Mechanic
Job Description: Flow State is looking for an experienced Head Mechanic to lead and grow our brand new shop.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated to create a friendly, welcoming, inclusive, and memorable experience for our customers.
Minimum three years of experience as a bike shop mechanic.
Expert mechanic skills, including knowledge of a wide range of bike components, hydraulic disc brake service, e-bike drivetrains, and wheel building.
Strong interpersonal skills given the open concept space and high level of interaction with customers and other employees.
Excellent communication skills, a good listener, and ability to give and receive feedback effectively.
Strong organization skills, the ability to stay on top of tasks, and the desire to deliver exceptional service.
A natural leader who can mentor junior staff with patience and empathy.
A motivated team-player who understands hospitality and the customer experience.
Competency with work orders and inventory control.
Experience with Lightspeed POS system is considered an asset.
What you’ll be doing:
New bike assembly and builds.
Intake / Service Writing: Customer bike assessment, estimating required work and costs, and preparing work orders.
Providing customer bike maintenance and tune-ups
More complex rebuilds, overhauls, and restorations as needed.
Tracking work orders to ensure jobs are completed on time and according to the highest standards.
Tracking repair parts, tools, and inventory, and identifying restocking needs.
Placing orders directly from suppliers when required.
Helping to lead and mentor junior bike shop service staff.
Occasional assisting with bike and accessory sales, helping customers with product selection, and processing payment transactions.
Providing feedback and input to the management team on work processes, product selection and overall bike shop operations, for the purpose of continual improvement and refinement.
Keeping a clean, tidy, and highly organized workspace at all times.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
