Position: Mechanic
Job Description: We are looking for a bike mechanic who has exceptional mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability; extensive and up-to-date knowledge of bicycles, components and accessories; and extreme attention to detail. We would be willing to train the right individual, so will also consider an applicant who has a basic working knowledge of bicycle mechanics, and is a quick learner.
As one of our mechanics, you would be responsible for assessments, service intake, and repairs. Things can get pretty busy, so an ability to work under pressure and multi task is important. Some stuff is heavy, so you would need to be comfortable lifting 40 lbs. We are a small shop, so mechanics and sales staff work closely together, and there is often overlap between the positions – our sales staff often assist with repairs, and our mechanics need to be comfortable working with customers. We are a commuter-oriented shop, so familiarity with bicycles and bicycle commuting is an asset.
This is a permanent, full-time position. Pay is commensurate with experience.
